1. Basics & Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Adioo Technology Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), located in Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria, collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the TruckPatch mobile application ("the app"), our web dashboard, and related services or APIs (collectively, "the Service").

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Account and Identity
Full name, phone number, email address, OTP (One-Time Password) authentication data, profile photograph, and account credentials.
2.2 Vehicle Data
Truck make, model, year, license plate number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), breakdown or fault descriptions, and photos you capture or upload (e.g., breakdown images, vehicle registration documents).
2.3 Location Data
Precise GPS location for breakdown points, service delivery spots, and saved address locations. We collect location data while the app is in use to match you with nearby service providers. If enabled by drivers/service providers, location data may be collected in the background to handle real-time job dispatch and transit tracking.
2.4 Payments and Wallet
In-app wallet balance, top-up records, payout histories, transaction references, and refund details. Card details (card number, CVV, expiry) are processed directly by PCI-DSS compliant payment processors; we never store full payment card details on our servers.
2.5 Calls and Communications
Call logs (phone numbers, time, and call duration between users/drivers and mechanics), in-app chat messages, audio recordings (where legally required or explicitly notified for safety/dispute monitoring), and support ticket records.
2.6 Service History and Ratings
Bookings, service requests, job completion logs, receipts, and reviews or ratings given and received.
2.7 Device and Technical Data
Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, app version, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and push notification tokens.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Dispatch & Matching: Connecting truck drivers or fleet owners with nearby mechanics and breakdown service providers.
- Payment Processing: Managing wallet transactions, processing service payments, issuing refunds, and managing payouts.
- Authentication: Logging you into your account securely using phone numbers and OTP verification.
- Customer Support & Safety: Resolving service disputes, investigating incidents, preventing fraud, and ensuring safety across our platform.
- Service Improvement: Analyzing app performance, crash logs, and usage patterns to optimize user experience.
- Marketing & Announcements: Sending promotional offers or feature updates. Marketing communications are strictly opt-in and include simple opt-out mechanisms.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and applicable international laws (including GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contractual Necessity: Account creation, service dispatch, job booking, payment execution, and wallet operations.
- Consent: Accessing precise GPS location, device permissions (camera/photos/microphone), and direct marketing messages. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Legitimate Interests: Fraud detection, safety monitoring, dispute resolution, crash reporting, and service quality improvements.
- Legal Obligation: Retaining financial records, complying with law enforcement, and satisfying regulatory tax compliance.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your data only as necessary to fulfill the Service:
- Mechanics & Service Providers: Name, phone number, current breakdown location, and vehicle details so they can reach and assist you.
- Payment Processors: Licensed payment gateways (such as Paystack, Flutterwave, or Monnify) to process card transactions and bank transfers.
- Infrastructure & Service Partners: Cloud hosting, SMS/OTP gateways, call routing providers, push notification services (e.g., Firebase FCM), and crash diagnostic tool providers.
- Law Enforcement & Regulators: When required by court order, subpoena, legal requirement, or to protect human safety.
- Corporate Transactions: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality agreements.
We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties under any circumstances.
6. International Data Transfers
Our servers and third-party service providers may operate in Nigeria or other global cloud infrastructure regions. When transferring personal data internationally, we ensure adequate safeguards are enforced in accordance with the NDPA 2023 and applicable privacy frameworks, such as standard data protection clauses and vendor compliance agreements.
7. Data Retention & Account Deletion
- Account & Profile Data: Retained while your account remains active.
- Transaction & Wallet Records: Retained for a minimum of 6 to 7 years to satisfy statutory tax and financial accounting regulations.
- Call Logs & Messages: Retained for up to 12 months for dispute resolution and safety quality assurance, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
- Location Logs: Raw GPS tracks are retained for short-term routing and safety analysis, then aggregated or deleted.
When you request account deletion, your profile, active sessions, and personal vehicle records are permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where financial retention laws require us to retain statutory transaction logs. For full details, see our Data Deletion Policy.
8. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical controls to safeguard your personal data. All data transmitted between the TruckPatch app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Sensitive stored data is encrypted at rest. Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel. In the event of a security breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and relevant data protection authorities as required by law.
9. Your Legal Rights
Under NDPA 2023 and applicable data protection regulations, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete records.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request data portability (exporting your transaction and booking records).
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities, or withdraw consent.

10. Device Permissions
TruckPatch requests the following device permissions to provide features:
- Location Permission: Required to locate your truck for emergency breakdown response and job dispatch. Can be turned off in system settings, though location-based features will cease to function.
- Camera & Photo Library: Required to take photos of vehicle faults, uploaded breakdown images, or receipts.
- Phone & Microphone: Required to initiate direct calls between drivers and assigned mechanics or customer support.
- Push Notifications: Required to alert you about job status updates, mechanic arrivals, and wallet transactions.
11. Cookies and Web Tracking
Our web dashboards use essential session cookies and performance analytics to maintain secure sign-ins and improve site functionality. You can manage or disable cookie preferences through your web browser settings.
12. Children's Privacy
TruckPatch is strictly designed for commercial truck drivers, mechanics, and fleet owners aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us for immediate deletion.
13. Third-Party Links & Services
The Service may contain links or integrated interfaces to third-party services (such as payment providers or map engines). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party platforms. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, new legal requirements, or service changes. When changes occur, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and notify you via in-app banners or push alerts.
